Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain and Set Aside
Once the pasta is cooked, drain it in a colander and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use.
Chicken Preparation
- 3
Prepare the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breast with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 4
Cook the Chicken
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the seasoned chicken breast. Cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Slice the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 6
- 7
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- 8
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
Combine and Serve
- 9
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce.
- 10
Plate the Dish
Serve the pasta on plates, topped with sliced chicken and garnished with chopped parsley.
