Waffle Batter

Method

Preparing the Waffle Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

  2. 2

    Whisk Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Avoid over-mixing; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking the Waffles

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it’s ready.

  2. 5

    Cook the Waffles

Once the waffle iron is hot, lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. Pour the appropriate amount of batter into the center of the waffle iron, close the lid, and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Serve

Carefully remove the waffle from the iron. Dust with powdered sugar to taste and serve warm. Enjoy your Belgian waffles!
