Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Make the Marinade
In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well mixed.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 375°F (190°C).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the chicken breasts on the grill. Grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is no longer pink in the center.
- 5
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each burger bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by a grilled chicken breast, a slice of tomato, and a cheese slice if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
- 7
Serve
Serve the grilled chicken sandwiches immediately with your favorite sides.
