Ingredients for Spaghetti Marinara

Method

Directions for Spaghetti Marinara

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and form into small meatballs.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Marinara Sauce

In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and chopped onion. Sauté until transparent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  4. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, add dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the cooked meatballs to the marinara sauce and let simmer for an additional 10 minutes.

  6. 6

    Cook the Spaghetti

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions in salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the spaghetti topped with marinara sauce and meatballs, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
