ANTIPASTI

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomato Mixture

Chop the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Basil

Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar over the tomato and basil mixture. Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Mix Ingredients

Gently toss the ingredients together until well combined. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld for about 10-15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Bread

While the mixture is resting, slice the baguette or crusty Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  6. 6

    Toast the Bread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the sliced bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Assemble the Bruschetta

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of toasted bread.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy your classic bruschetta as a delightful appetizer!
