Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Bolognese Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions, carrots, and celery, cooking until soft. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 3

    Brown the Meat

Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

  3. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, oregano, salt, and pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Garlic Bread Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Bread

In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture on each half.

  2. 6

    Bake the Bread

Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Salad Preparation

  1. 7

    Make the Salad

In a bowl, combine mixed salad greens, cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve the Dish

Serve the rigatoni pasta topped with the bolognese sauce alongside garlic bread and the side salad.
