Cocktail
Garnish & Finish
Prep (makes ~4 oz syrup)
Method
Prep
Make cardamom simple syrup
Split the cardamom pods with the flat side of a knife (lightly crush to expose seeds). In a small saucepan combine 0.5 cup sugar and 0.5 cup water and add the crushed cardamom pods. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for 3 minutes, then remove from heat and let steep for 20 minutes to infuse. Strain out pods and seeds into a clean jar. Cool completely. Yields ~4 oz syrup. Refrigerate up to 2 weeks.
Build the Cocktail
Chill a highball or Collins glass by filling with ice and a little water while you prepare the drink; discard the water before using.
In a mixing glass (or shaker without shaking) add 2 oz Ritual Non‑Alcoholic Aperitif, 0.75 oz Liquid Alchemist Strawberry shrub, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz cardamom simple syrup. Add a handful of ice (about 1/2 cup) and stir gently for 10–15 seconds to lightly chill and dilute.
Fill the chilled serving glass with fresh ice (about 1 cup). Strain the stirred mixture over the ice.
Top with 3 oz chilled ginger beer. Stir once gently to combine and preserve carbonation.
Garnish & Serve
Lightly crush one green cardamom pod between your fingers to release aroma and drop it on top as a garnish. Optional: halve or thinly slice a fresh strawberry and float on top or skewer with the cardamom for visual appeal.
Serve immediately with a short stirring straw. Recommend serving temperature: well chilled, enjoyed within 5–10 minutes for best fizz and aroma.
