Preparation

Prepare the Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. Set aside.

Prepare the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and set aside.

Prepare the Preserved Lemon
Carefully remove the rind from the preserved lemon, discarding the seeds and pulp. Chop the rind into small pieces.
Blending

Combine Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic, chopped preserved lemon rind, Aleppo pepper, Urfa pepper, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and salt.

Blend the Mixture
Blend the mixture on high until smooth. If the hummus is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Serve

Transfer and Garnish
Transfer the smoky garlic hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with additional olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of Aleppo and Urfa pepper for garnish.
