Method
Kefta Kebab
- 1
Prepare the Kefta Mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Mix well.
- 2
Add Spices
To the meat mixture, add ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- 3
Shape the Kefta
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each into an elongated kebab around the soaked skewers.
- 4
Basmati Rice
- 5
Rinse the Rice
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.
- 6
Cook the Rice
In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add rinsed basmati rice and salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
Tzatziki Sauce
- 7
Prepare the Tzatziki
In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Mix well.
- 8
Season
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir to combine and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serving
- 9
Plate the Dish
Serve the grilled kefta kebabs on a bed of basmati rice. Drizzle with olive oil and serve with lemon wedges and tzatziki sauce on the side.
