Meat Mixture

For Grilling

Method

Prepare Meat Mixture

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and ground beef.

  2. 2

    Add Aromatics

Add the finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and lemon zest to the meat mixture.

  3. 3

    Mix Thoroughly

Using your hands, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.

  4. 4

    Shape Kefta

Wet your hands slightly and form the meat mixture into elongated shapes, about the size of a sausage. Place them on a plate.

Prepare Tzatziki Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and chopped dill.

  2. 6

    Chill

Mix well and refrigerate the tzatziki sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Grill Kefta

  1. 7

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  2. 8

    Oil the Grill

Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  3. 9

    Grill Kefta

Place the shaped kefta onto the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and nicely browned.

  4. 10

    Serve

Remove the kefta from the grill and serve with lemon wedges and the chilled tzatziki sauce.
