Halloumi

Hot Honey

Garlic Dukkah

Method

Preparing the Hot Honey

  1. 1

    Make the Hot Honey

In a small saucepan, combine honey and red chili flakes over low heat. Stir gently and heat until warm but not boiling, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Making the Garlic Dukkah

  1. 2

    Prepare the Dukkah

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the hazelnuts for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until golden. Remove from the skillet and let cool, then chop coarsely. In the same skillet, toast the sesame seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, garlic powder, and salt for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove and combine with the chopped hazelnuts.

Cooking the Halloumi

  1. 3

    Cook the Halloumi

Slice the halloumi cheese into thick slices (about 1 cm). Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the halloumi slices and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

Final Assembly

  1. 4

    Assemble and Serve

On a serving plate, place the crispy halloumi slices. Drizzle with the hot honey and sprinkle generously with the garlic dukkah. Serve immediately.
