Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Beef Brisket

  1. 1

    Cook the Brisket

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Season the beef brisket with salt and black pepper. Place the brisket in the smoker and smoke for about 8-10 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 203°F (95°C). Remove from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Making Hummus

  1. 2

    Prepare Chickpeas

If using canned chickpeas, drain and rinse them. If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and then boil until tender.

  2. 3

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and smoked BBQ sauce. Pulse until smooth.

  3. 4

    Add Olive Oil

With the processor running, slowly drizzle in olive oil until the hummus reaches your desired consistency. If the hummus is too thick, add a tablespoon of water at a time until smooth.

  4. 5

    Season

Taste and add salt and black pepper as needed, blending again to combine.

Combine

  1. 6

    Mix in Brisket

Chop the smoked brisket finely and fold it into the hummus mixture. Ensure it is evenly distributed throughout.
