Method
Crust Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated with butter.
- 2
Form the Crust
Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Cheesecake Filling Preparation
- 3
Make the Filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Gradually add granulated sugar and continue to beat until combined.
- 4
Add Eggs
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- 5
Pour Filling into Crust
Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- 6
Bake the Cheesecake
Bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 45-50 minutes. The center should be slightly jiggly, and the top should be golden brown.
- 7
Cool the Cheesecake
Once baked, turn off the oven and crack the door open. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour before transferring it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Whipped Cream Preparation
- 8
Make the Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, add the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.
- 9
Top the Cheesecake
Once the cheesecake is fully chilled, remove it from the springform pan. Spread or dollop the whipped cream on top of the cheesecake before serving.
