Ahi Tuna & Watermelon

Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Watermelon

Cut the watermelon into bite-sized cubes and set aside in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Slice the Radishes

Thinly slice the radishes and add them to the bowl with watermelon.

  3. 3

    Chop the Cucumber

Peel and slice the cucumber into thin rounds, then add to the watermelon and radish mixture.

Yuzu Nigella Vinaigrette

  1. 4

    Make the Vinaigrette

In a small bowl, whisk together yuzu juice, olive oil, nigella seeds, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Cooking the Ahi Tuna

  1. 5

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a skillet over high heat. Season the ahi tuna steaks with salt and black pepper on both sides. Sear the tuna for 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the outside is browned but the inside remains rare.

  2. 6

    Slice the Tuna

Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Then slice it into thin strips.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

In a large serving platter, arrange the watermelon, radish, and cucumber mixture. Top with the sliced ahi tuna and drizzle with the yuzu nigella vinaigrette. Serve immediately.
