Method

For the Smoky Brisket

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and liquid smoke. Rub this mixture all over the brisket.

  2. 2

    Cook the Brisket

Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the beef broth around it. Cover tightly with foil and cook in the preheated oven for 4-5 hours or until tender.

For the Whiskey Bacon Onion Jam

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and chop into small pieces.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Onion Jam

In the same skillet, add sliced onions and cook until caramelized. Stir in the whiskey, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar. Cook until thickened, about 10-15 minutes. Add the bacon back into the mixture.

For the Garlic Sauteed Green Beans

  1. 5

    Sauté the Green Beans

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds before adding the green beans. Cook until tender-crisp, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

For the Cornbread Waffles

  1. 6

    Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, milk, egg, melted butter, and honey. Mix until combined.

  2. 7

    Cook the Waffles

Preheat the waffle iron and pour the batter into the iron. Cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown.
