Pulled Pork

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Slow Roast the Pork

Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a roasting pan. Pour the 913 whiskey over the pork and cover with foil. Roast for 6-8 hours until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Make the Whiskey Sauce

In a saucepan, mix the barbecue sauce and remaining whiskey. Simmer for 10 minutes and set aside.

  4. 4

    Prepare Cornbread Waffles

In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, milk, and eggs until smooth. Preheat a waffle maker and cook the batter according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  5. 5

    Make the Slaw

Shred the cabbage and carrots. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and toss with the shredded vegetables until well combined.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the pork is done, shred it with two forks. Serve on cornbread waffles topped with pulled pork and drizzle with whiskey sauce. Serve slaw on the side.
