Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Rinse the beef and pork ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if necessary.

  2. 2

    Make the Dry Rub

In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  3. 3

    Apply the Dry Rub

Generously coat the ribs with the dry rub mixture, ensuring that all sides are covered. Let the ribs sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

  2. 5

    Bake the Ribs

Place the coated ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil and bake for 3 hours.

  3. 6

    Apply BBQ Sauce

After 3 hours, remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush BBQ sauce generously over the ribs.

  4. 7

    Broil the Ribs

Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and broil for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 8

    Slice and Serve

Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for about 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
