Method

Sauce Preparation

  1. 1

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Pepperoni

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).

  2. 6

    Prepare a Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  3. 7

    Spread the Sauce

Once the sauce is ready, spread a generous amount over your pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 8

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce, followed by the grated parmesan cheese.

  5. 9

    Layer Pepperoni

Distribute the pepperoni slices evenly over the cheese.

  6. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 11

    Garnish and Serve

If desired, garnish with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving. Enjoy your homemade pepperoni pizza!
