Mashed Potatoes

Method

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the Russet potatoes and cut them into quarters. Rinse under cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Boil the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until tender.

  3. 3

    Drain and Mash

Once the potatoes are tender, drain them in a colander. Return to the pot and mash with a potato masher until smooth.

  4. 4

    Add Butter and Milk

Add the butter to the mashed potatoes. Slowly pour in the milk while continuing to mash until the desired consistency is reached. If using garlic, mince and mix in.

  5. 5

    Season and Serve

Add salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well and serve hot.

Roasted Potatoes

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash the baby potatoes thoroughly and cut any large ones in half to ensure even cooking.

  3. 8

    Season the Potatoes

In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil, rosemary, salt, and black pepper until well coated.

  4. 9

    Roast the Potatoes

Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, and serve warm.
