Regular Fries

Method

Regular Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a paper towel.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of the potatoes to the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pot.

  5. 5

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with salt, paprika, and garlic powder.

Tater Tots Preparation

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a separate pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Fry the Tater Tots

Add the frozen tater tots to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 3-4 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

  3. 8

    Drain and Season

Remove the tater tots from the oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste while still hot.
