Egg Roll Filling

Egg Roll Wrappers

Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Cook until thoroughly browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Add Spinach and Seasoning

Stir in the chopped spinach, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spinach has wilted.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined. Allow the filling to cool slightly.

Rolling the Egg Rolls

  1. 5

    Prepare the Wrappers

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner facing you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the meat filling in the center of the wrapper.

  2. 6

    Roll the Egg Roll

Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the two side corners. Roll tightly away from you to enclose the filling. Seal the edge with a little water.

  3. 7

    Repeat

Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling until all are rolled.

Frying

  1. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 9

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Turn occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 10

    Drain and Serve

Remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
