Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground pork. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon.

  2. 2

    Add Vegetables

Add the shredded cabbage, carrots, and green onions to the skillet. Stir and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  3. 3

    Flavor the Filling

Stir in the minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to combine flavors. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

Assembling the Egg Rolls

  1. 4

    Wrap the Egg Rolls

Take an egg roll wrapper and place it on a clean surface with a corner facing you. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to the top corner. Seal the edge with a little water.

  2. 5

    Repeat

Repeat the wrapping process with the remaining wrappers and filling until all are filled.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Fry the Egg Rolls

Carefully add the egg rolls to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.

  3. 8

    Drain and Serve

Using a slotted spoon, remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
