Method
Hummus Preparation
- 1
Prepare Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. This helps to remove excess sodium and improve the texture.
- 2
Blend Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic (peeled), olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- 3
Adjust Consistency
If the hummus is too thick, add additional water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
- 4
Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika on top for garnish.
Pita Bread Preparation
- 5
Warm Pita Bread
Gently warm the pita bread in a toaster or on a skillet over medium heat for about 2-3 minutes, until soft and pliable.
Vegetable Preparation
- 6
Prepare Carrots
Peel and slice the carrots into sticks or rounds, depending on your preference.
- 7
Prepare Cucumbers
Wash the cucumber and slice it into rounds or sticks.
- 8
Prepare Bell Peppers
Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds and stem, and cut into strips.
- 9
Prepare Cherry Tomatoes
Wash the cherry tomatoes and leave them whole for dipping.
