Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into 6 equal wedges to form chips.

  2. 2

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to turn them occasionally.

  4. 4

    Drain Chips

Remove the chips from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper into small pieces. Chop the fresh cilantro finely.

  2. 6

    Mix Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Salt

Pour lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.

  4. 8

    Chill Salsa

Let the salsa sit for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
