Method
Preparation of Brussels Sprouts
- 1
Trim and Halve
Begin by washing the Brussels sprouts under cold water. Trim off the stem ends and remove any yellow or damaged leaves. Cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.
- 2
Season
In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated.
Cooking Brussels Sprouts
- 3
Roast
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the coated Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown, tossing halfway through for even cooking.
Preparation of Spicy Garlic Sauce
- 4
Mince Garlic
While the Brussels sprouts are roasting, peel and mince the garlic cloves.
- 5
Mix Sauce Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, soy sauce, honey, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine all the ingredients into a smooth sauce.
Tossing and Serving
- 6
Combine
Once the Brussels sprouts are done roasting, remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle the spicy garlic sauce over the hot Brussels sprouts. Toss well to ensure all the sprouts are coated with the sauce.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and serve hot as a delicious side dish or appetizer.
