Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

In the last minute of cooking, place the burger buns cut-side down on the grill or skillet to toast until golden brown.

House Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until smooth and well combined.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato into thick slices.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Spread a generous amount of the house sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a beef patty on top, followed by a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
