Method

Preparing the Halibut

1

Season the Halibut

Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the fillets with salt and black pepper.

2

Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

3

Sear the Halibut

Carefully place the halibut fillets in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Making the Lemon Butter Sauce

4

Melt the Butter

In the same skillet used for the halibut, lower the heat to medium. Add the unsalted butter and let it melt.

5

Add Garlic

Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

6

Finish the Sauce

Stir in the fresh lemon juice, chopped parsley, and lemon zest. Cook for an additional minute, stirring to combine.

Serving

7

Plate the Dish

Place the seared halibut fillets on plates and drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the top. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.

8

Enjoy

Serve immediately while warm, accompanied by your favorite sides.
