Burger Components

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the onions thinly and heat a skillet over medium heat. Add a drizzle of oil, then add the onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 20-30 minutes until the onions are golden brown and caramelized.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Horseradish Aioli

In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise and horseradish. Mix well until smooth. Adjust seasoning if needed.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the brioche buns lightly on a skillet or grill. On the bottom half of each bun, spread a generous amount of the horseradish aioli, then layer with lettuce, a slice of tomato, caramelized onions, and a slice of smoked gouda. Top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips to form fries.

  2. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Add the fries in batches and fry for about 5-6 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 6

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
