Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet ingredients. Gently stir until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a small amount of butter or cooking spray.

  2. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Serve

Remove pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Serve with butter and maple syrup on top, as desired.
