    Prepare the Glass

    Rub the rim of a large glass or jumbo margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip it in salt to coat the rim.

    Mix the Ingredients

    In a large shaker or pitcher, combine the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and optional flavored syrup if desired.

    Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. If using a pitcher, stir well to combine.
