Measure and add spirits
Into a cocktail shaker add 1 oz Old Forester Bourbon, 1 oz Aperol, and 1 oz Amaro Montenegro.
- 3
Add citrus
Add 3 teaspoons (about 1/2 oz) of freshly squeezed lemon juice to the shaker. Use freshly squeezed lemon for best balance and flavor.
- 4
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with plenty of ice (enough to almost fill the shaker). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12β15 seconds, until the shaker is cold to the touch and the shaker shows condensation.

Prepare serving glass
If you used ice to chill the serving glass, discard the ice and water now. Optionally add a single large ice cube to a rocks glass if you prefer the drink over ice; otherwise use a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass for a neat pour.
