Cosmopolitan Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Fill a martini or coupe glass with ice and cold water, or place in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
- 2
Measure ingredients
Using a jigger, measure 2 oz Tito's Vodka, 1 oz Cointreau, 1 oz cranberry juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter cocktail, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.
- 3
Add to shaker
Add the measured vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using) into the cocktail shaker. Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker — enough to fill it roughly two-thirds full.
- 4
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes very cold and the ingredients are well combined and slightly diluted.
- 5
- 6
Double strain
Place your hawthorne strainer (or use the built-in strainer) over the shaker and pour the cocktail through it into a fine strainer held over the chilled glass to remove small ice shards and any pulp for a smooth, clear drink.
- 7
Garnish
Express the oils of an orange peel over the surface of the cocktail by holding the peel skin-side down above the drink and giving it a firm twist, then optionally rub the rim with the peel and drop it in or discard. Alternatively, float a lime wheel on the surface or skewer a thin lime twist as a garnish.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately while cold. Enjoy responsibly.
