Method

Prep Rim & Glass

1

Choose a rocks or coupe glass. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass to moisten it.

2

On a small plate, mix the Tajin and kosher salt (if using) so the rim has both heat and a touch of salt. Press the moistened rim into the Tajin mixture, rotating to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

3

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add ice (enough to fill the shaker about halfway), the tequila, triple sec, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and 3 dashes of Cholula hot sauce.

4

Shake

Shake vigorously for about 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. The shaking helps integrate the Cholula and chill the drink.

5

Taste adjustment (optional)

If you prefer it spicier, add 1 more dash of Cholula and give one short additional shake. If you prefer it sweeter, add up to 0.25 oz more simple syrup and briefly shake again.

Finish & Serve

6

Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice (or strain without ice into the chilled glass if serving up). Strain the cocktail into the glass.

7

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally, add a small extra dash of Cholula on the top of the drink for aroma/visual spice.

8

Serve immediately and advise guests to sip and enjoy the interplay of bright lime, sweet orange liqueur, tequila, and gentle chili heat against the Tajin-rimmed glass.
