Flatbread Ingredients
Method
Flatbread Directions
- 1
Prepare the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine the warm water (about 110°F or 43°C) and the active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix thoroughly.
- 3
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let the Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
- 6
Preheat the Oven
While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a baking stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- 7
Shape the Flatbreads
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a flat round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
- 8
Bake the Flatbreads
Transfer the shaped flatbreads onto a baking sheet or directly onto the preheated baking stone. Bake for about 5-7 minutes or until they are puffed and lightly golden.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove the flatbreads from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with additional clover honey drizzled on top or alongside.
