Pulled Pork
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Spice Rub
In a bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create a spice rub.
- 2
Rub the Pork
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it is well coated. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 3
Cook the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add the apple cider vinegar and water to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 4
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork shoulder from the slow cooker and shred the meat using two forks. Discard any bone and excess fat.
- 5
Mix with BBQ Sauce
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix in the BBQ sauce. Allow it to cook on low for an additional 30 minutes to heat through.
- 6
Serve
Serve the pulled pork by the pound with additional BBQ sauce on the side, and enjoy!
