Brisket Preparation

Season and Cook the Brisket
Rub the brisket with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Place in a slow cooker and pour beef broth over it. Cook on low for 8 hours or until tender.

Chop the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and chop it into small pieces. Mix with barbecue sauce.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Combine and Bake
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour batter into a greased baking dish and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
Assembly

Assemble the Sandwich
Place a generous portion of chopped brisket on each bun. Optionally drizzle with extra barbecue sauce. Serve with coleslaw and baked beans on the side, along with a piece of cornbread.
