Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large pot over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Brown the Elk Meat

Add the ground elk meat to the pot and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

  4. 4

    Add Remaining Ingredients

Stir in the diced carrots, potatoes, corn, chicken broth, and crushed red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil.

  5. 5

    Simmer

Reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the carrots and potatoes are tender.

  6. 6

    Finish with Cream

Stir in the heavy cream and cooked bacon. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Heat through and serve hot.
