Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat. Add the all-purpose flour and stir vigorously until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.

Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside for coating the churros.

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe 6-inch strips of dough directly into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry the Churros

Fry the churros until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat the Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
