Meats

Method

Meats

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Make sure to coat it evenly on all sides.

  2. 2

    Sear the Pork

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork shoulder and sear it on all sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  3. 3

    Slow Cook the Pork

Transfer the seared pork shoulder to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and easily shredded with a fork.

Apricot BBQ Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine apricot preserves, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 5

    Add Sauce to the Pork

Once the pork is done cooking, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Mix in the apricot BBQ sauce with the shredded pork until well coated.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the pulled pork on buns or as desired, drizzled with extra apricot BBQ sauce if desired.
