- 3
Bread the Tomatoes
Dip each tomato slice first in the flour, shaking off excess, then in the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat with cornmeal. Ensure each slice is evenly coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- 5
Fry the Tomatoes
Carefully add the breaded tomato slices to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Remoulade Sauce
- 7
Combine Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, capers, minced garlic, hot sauce, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.

Mix Well
Stir the mixture until all ingredients are fully combined and smooth.
- 9
Chill and Serve
Cover the remoulade sauce and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve alongside the fried green tomatoes.
