Method

Preparing the Eggs

  1. 1

    Boiling the Eggs

Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, cover the saucepan and remove it from heat. Let the eggs sit for 12-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cooling the Eggs

After the eggs have finished cooking, transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes before peeling.

  3. 3

    Peeling the Eggs

Once cooled, gently tap each egg on a hard surface and peel off the shell under running water for easier removal.

Preparing the Filling

  1. 4

    Halving the Eggs

Slice each peeled egg in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks, placing them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 5

    Mixing the Filling

To the bowl with egg yolks, add mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, sweet pickle relish, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mash the mixture with a fork until smooth and creamy. Stir in the chopped fresh chives.

Assembling the Deviled Eggs

  1. 6

    Filling the Egg Whites

Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill the hollowed egg whites with the yolk mixture.

  2. 7

    Garnishing

Sprinkle a pinch of smoked paprika and some chopped fresh chives on top of each filled egg for garnish.
