Method
Steak
- 1
Prepare the Steak
Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.
- 2
Season the Steak
Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- 3
French Fries
- 4
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into long, thin strips to make fries.
- 5
Soak the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. This helps achieve a crispier fry.
- 6
Fry the Potatoes
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain and pat the fries dry, then carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-6 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt to taste.
Garlic Butter
- 7
Prepare the Garlic Butter
Melt the stick of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook gently for about 2 minutes, being careful not to burn it.
- 8
Finish the Garlic Butter
Remove from heat, stir in chopped fresh parsley and a pinch of salt. Set aside to cool slightly.
