Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

Cook Linguine
Add the linguine to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the linguine in a colander.
Preparing Shrimp Scampi

Sauté Shrimp
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted and hot, add the large shrimp to the pan.

Add Garlic and Seasonings
Sauté the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.

Deglaze with Wine
Pour in the white wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Allow the wine to simmer and reduce for about 2-3 minutes.

Garnish and Serve
Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
