Method

Roast Beef

  1. 1

    Prepare the Roast

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and thyme.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Rub the mixture all over the beef roast, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Roast the Beef

Place the seasoned beef roast in a roasting pan and pour the beef broth around the roast. Roast in the preheated oven for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.

  4. 4

    Rest and Slice

Once cooked, remove the roast from the oven, cover it with foil, and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

French Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes, then cut them into thin strips.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per batch.

  4. 8

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Cole Slaw

  1. 9

    Mix the Vegetables

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrot.

  2. 10

    Prepare the Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 11

    Combine and Chill

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture, tossing to coat. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
