Method
Ahi Tuna Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ahi Tuna
Start by cutting the Ahi tuna into 1-inch cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 2
Make the Marinade
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger (finely grated), and minced garlic until well combined.
- 3
Marinate the Tuna
Pour the marinade over the cubed Ahi tuna, ensuring that all pieces are well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 4
Prepare Garnish
Finely chop the green onions and set aside for garnish. Also, prepare a plate with black sesame seeds for coating.
Dipping Sauce
- 5
Mix Dipping Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, wasabi paste, honey, and lime juice. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
Cooking

Sear the Tuna Bites
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of olive oil to the pan. Once hot, add the marinated tuna cubes, searing them for about 30 seconds on each side until they're golden brown on the outside but still rare inside.

Coat Tuna Bites
Remove the tuna from the pan and immediately roll them in the plate of black sesame seeds to coat the outside.
Serving
- 8
Plate and Serve
Arrange the Ahi tuna bites on a serving platter, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve with the dipping sauce on the side.
