Method
Preparing the Hot Dogs
- 1
Cook the Hot Dogs
In a pot of boiling water, add the quarter pound hot dogs. Let them cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they are heated through.
- 2
Prepare the Buns
While the hot dogs are cooking, place the hot dog buns in a toaster or on a grill for 1-2 minutes until they are slightly toasted.
- 3
Fill with Cheese and Jalapeños
Once the hot dogs are cooked, place each hot dog in a toasted bun. Top each with 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and 1 tablespoon of sliced mild jalapeños.
Preparing the Fries
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep fryer or a large pan, heat 2 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the French Fries
Carefully add the frozen French fries to the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary. Fry for 4-6 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
