Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indent in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Bacon and Patties

  1. 3

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon strips until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Cook Burger Patties

In the same skillet, add the burger patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and top each patty with cheddar cheese. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare Buns

Toast the burger buns in the skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, bacon strips, sliced tomato, pickles, and any condiments you desire. Top with the other half of the bun.
