Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce and pat it dry. Slice the tomato and raw onion into thin rounds. Clean and slice the mushrooms.

  2. 2

    Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes until they are soft and golden brown.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cooking the Burger Patties

  1. 4

    Cook the Vegetable Patties

Heat the same skillet used for the bacon or a grill over medium-high heat. Cook the vegetable burger patties according to package instructions, usually around 5-7 minutes on each side.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly, then layer the bottom bun with lettuce, a cooked burger patty, tomato slices, raw onion, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and crumbled bleu cheese. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Serve the veggie burgers with ketchup and mustard on the side for dipping.
