Taco Assembly
Method
Prepare the Shrimp
- 1
Marinate the Shrimp
In a medium bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and lime juice. Toss well to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Allow to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- 2
Grill the Shrimp
Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes prior to use). Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.
Assemble the Tacos
- 3
Warm the Tortillas
In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until they are pliable. Keep them warm by wrapping them in a clean kitchen towel.
- 4
Build the Tacos
On each tortilla, place a few grilled shrimp, followed by slices of avocado, a generous spoonful of fresh salsa, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.
- 5
Serve
Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side for extra flavor.
