Method

Tea Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Remove the saucepan from heat. Add 4 tea bags to the boiling water and let them steep for 5-10 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, remove the tea bags and discard them.

Sweetening (if desired)

  1. 4

    Add Sweetener

If you like your iced tea sweetened, add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the hot tea and stir until fully dissolved.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 5

    Cool the Tea

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature. You can speed this up by placing it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

  2. 6

    Prepare Glasses

Fill glasses with 2 cups of ice cubes.

  3. 7

    Pour Tea

Pour the cooled tea over the ice cubes in each glass.

  4. 8

    Garnish

Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves if desired. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
